Ugljan
Ugljan is the largest village on the island Ugljan, with its long-standing tourist tradition. With its nine hamlets, it is settled in the northwestern part of the island (Čeprljanda, Lučino Selo Batalaža, Sušica, Gornje Selo, Muline, Guduće, Fortoština, Varoš).
The economic basis is agriculture, viticulture, olive growing, fruit growing, fishing, and tourism. There is a regional road that runs along the island. Monuments from the time of early antiquity, Villa Rustica, late antique mausoleum, the remains of an early Christian basilica and a monumental farmhouse from the 1st century for olive processing in Muline Bay testify to the early stay of man in this area. There are several summer residences of Zadar noble families in the village. Remains of a Roman villa have been discovered along Batalaža Bay, and to the south-east of the village, on the Koran hill, the remains of a prehistoric hill fort.
Swimmers will be delighted by the beautiful sandy beaches, the most beautiful of which are in the coves of Ćinta, Mostir, and Luka in Muline. There are several restaurants in Ugljan that offer local specialties.
